Understanding Solar Compatibility with the Delta Pro Ultra

MPPT Range & Why It Matters

The Delta Pro Ultra accepts solar input between 80V and 450V (MPPT range). Panels with Vmp below 80V won't start charging — the MPPT controller can't lock on. Panels with Vmp above 450V may damage the input circuit. This generator has a secondary solar input (30–150V) for lower-voltage panels.

Cold Weather Voltage Safety

We apply a 1.2x safety margin to each panel's open-circuit voltage (Voc) to account for cold temperatures, when solar cells produce higher voltage. The Delta Pro Ultra's maximum input voltage is 450V. Any panel whose Voc x 1.2 exceeds 450V is flagged as a voltage danger. 20 of 20 panels pass this safety check.

Cables & Adapters for the Delta Pro Ultra

The Delta Pro Ultra uses a MC4 solar input connector. MC4 is the industry standard for rigid and portable solar panels. Most panels connect directly. 6 of 20 panels require an adapter with this unit.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use any solar panel with the EcoFlow Delta Pro Ultra?
No. The Delta Pro Ultra requires panels with Vmp between 80V and 450V, and cold-weather Voc (Voc x 1.2) under 450V. Of the 20 panels we tested, 4 are fully compatible, 16 work with limitations, and 0 are incompatible.
How long does it take to charge the Delta Pro Ultra with solar?
With the fastest compatible panel (EcoFlow NextGen 220W Bifacial Portable Solar Panel, 1100W delivered), the Delta Pro Ultra (6144Wh) charges in approximately 8 hours under real-world conditions (70% derate for angle, clouds, and temperature). The slowest compatible option (Jackery SolarSaga 80W Solar Panel) takes approximately 27.4 hours.
Do I need an adapter for solar charging the Delta Pro Ultra?
The Delta Pro Ultra uses a MC4 connector. 6 of 20 panels require an adapter. The remaining panels connect directly via MC4.
What is the secondary solar input on the Delta Pro Ultra?
The Delta Pro Ultra has two solar input ports. The primary accepts 80–450V; the secondary accepts 30–150V. Lower-voltage panels that can't reach the primary's minimum are automatically matched to the secondary port.
